Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of our patients and their families? Consider becoming a volunteer!
Carroll Hospice has announced its spring volunteer training schedule. The training consists of two in-person classes, one at the beginning and one at the end of the session.
In between training sessions, participants will complete online courses that range from about 20 minutes to 1 hour in length and cover topics such as understanding pain, compassionate conversations and the impact of grief. A short quiz is given after each online course to ensure the material is understood.
The next volunteer training in-person dates are as follows:
First in-person orientation session (choose one): Tuesday, March 19, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or Friday, March 22, 9 a.m. to noon
Wrap-up in-person orientation session (choose one): Tuesday, April 23, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or Friday, April 26, 9 a.m. to noon
After the training session is complete, volunteers are qualified to offer companion care at a patient’s residence, whether that’s in a private home, nursing facility or at Dove House, Carroll Hospice’s inpatient facility.
