For those grieving the loss of a loved one, Carroll Hospice is hosting its free Coping with the Holidays workshop at Dove House on Thursday, November 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
At this annual educational workshop, the bereavement team will discuss tips on how to get through the holiday season after the death of someone close.
A checklist that covers all aspects of holiday celebrations is one resource in particular that bereavement counselor Jess Roschen finds useful. It helps participants think about how they want to celebrate.
“Now that you’re facing grief, it helps you consider what changes you want to make this year [to your celebrations] to get people thinking and talking about it,” she says.
Attendees at the workshop will also get to share about the loved one they lost and their plans for the upcoming holidays, and they’ll get to participate in a personalized, hands-on activity.
Registration is required, and space is limited. Call 410-871-7656 to register.
